Artist Bio
Peskimo are Jodie Davis and David Partington, who met at Leeds Metropolitan University, UK, graduating in 2002 in Graphic Arts and Design and Multimedia Technology respectively. Their work is a colorful, imaginative world full of monsters and cute animals, pattern and texture, fun and frolics. They find inspiration from cartoons, vintage graphic design, and the oddities of everyday life. They hope one day to have their own ice cream van.
Artist Inspiration
Creating the image using the computer then printing using letterpress method is an amazing collision between the new and old - digital and analog.
About the Print
Letterpressed using 3 runs on the Chandler & Price Platen (circa 1911) by hand with handfed Stonehenge 90lb printmaking paper with ink carefully mixed by hand. Every print is unique in its impression, variations in color and placement, the very quality that makes letterpressed prints so beautiful. Print Size is 8”x 10” including the 0.5” border for framing.
