Plain Surface - Issue 1
We picked up a few copies of this beautiful art book on our trip to Glasgow in April of 2008 at our host gallery, Hitherto in Glasgow. Plain surface is a Glasgow based and focused publication showcasing some of the city’s best drawing talent.
This first issue showcases 32 local artist/illustrators, each with a double page spread. The publication is litho printed on 90gsm student wove off white uncoated paper and is perfect bound with a foreward by Sarah Hogg. Frontcover hand printed by Edwin Pickstone. Each cover is hand pressed and hand bound and therefore one of a kind. Edwin was gracious enough to show us his studio at the SWG3 where 1990s performed a set for the Poketo + Hitherto Glasgow Series Launch Party.
