WRITER/EDITOR/PR COORDINATOR
Poketo is looking for an art/design copy writer who can write and edit content for a variety of platforms–from product descriptions, marketing materials and press releases, to blog posts and Tweets. This position plays a critical role in not only research, writing, and fine-tuning all kinds of content, but also the distribution of information in an effective and timely manner to press and various online media outlets. The candidate should be extremely familiar with Poketo, art, design, products, fashion, pop culture, and also be knowledgeable in social media, online culture, shopping, and blogs.
This is an in-house part-time to potentially full-time position.
The Job:
- Write and edit clear, concise, and compelling copy and content.
- Develop thorough style guides and copy edit all of Poketo’s written materials including product descriptions, blogs, press releases, and newsletters, to assure error-free copy.
- Write short to medium form original, blog content.
- Write smart and catchy marketing copy.
- Maintain and establish press contacts and disseminate information regarding new and upcoming Poketo projects and products.
The Person We Are Looking For:
- Has at least 3-4 years of copywriting experience on- and offline.
- Adept at writing original content as well as smart and catchy marketing copy.
- Extremely thorough and detail oriented. Must be an eagle-eyed copy editor.
- Web savvy and has an active online presence.
- Must breathe art/design/culture/technology news and blogs and active in social media and the internet, online shopping websites, and blogs.
- Has marketing / PR experience.
- Has strong understanding of the art/design/online community that Poketo lives in.
- Must be a creative out-of-box thinker who can come up with creative and fresh ways to market Poketo.
- Adept in WordPress, Excel, and Tumblr.
- Can work and execute ideas and copy quickly.
- Is flexible and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Is self motivated and can work both independently and in a team environment.
- Can take creative direction, able to take constructive criticism, and run with it!
- A sense of humor and flexibility.
- Is willing to go above and beyond to get the job done!

GRAPHIC DESIGN/MULTIMEDIA INTERNSHIP
Poketo, a designer of limited edition artist-designed lifestyle goods is seeking a video/animation intern and a graphic design intern. The studio is located in the Little Tokyo/Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. The internship starts immediately!
The Multimedia intern will produce short pieces in a fun, lighthearted style for Poketo’s culture, brand, products, and events. The graphic design intern will select appropriate designs for all Poketo product platforms, design marketing collateral for Poketo’s brand and products, and research potential artist collaborations and new product ideas.
Poketo works closely with their interns making them a valuable part of the team. Interns will work on real projects and gain important hands-on experience. No coffee making or running errands! This is a fantastic opportunity for interns to build their portfolios and resumes with projects from Poketo, an internationally recognized artist brand.
Multimedia candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- A comprehensive expertise with After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Definite drawing ability, acute command of color theory, composition, typography and overall design concepts
- Competence in web design, with fluency in HTML, CSS, and Word Press is a huge plus
- Access to digital video camera. Access to a laptop preferred
- An informed interest in fashion and product design is a must!
Graphic design candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Acute command of color theory, composition, typography and overall design concepts
- Comprehensive expertise with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other creative application software
- Must be competent in both web and print design, with fluency in HTML and CSS – experience with WordPress a big plus
- Skilled photography and illustration ability is a big plus
- An informed interest in fashion and product design is a must!

Writing/Marketing/PR intern should have informed interest in product design, fashion, and culture at large. He/she will be responsible for all things writing related from product descriptions, press releases for new releases and events, blog entries, and more.
Poketo works closely with their interns making them a valuable part of the team. Interns will work on real projects and gain important hands-on experience. No coffee making or running errands! This is a fantastic opportunity for interns to build their experiences from the ground level with Poketo, an internationally recognized artist brand.
Marketing/PR/Writing Internship candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Must be an out-of-box thinker with crazy good ideas
- Great written communications skills, a must
- Must have a can-do attitude to get the ideas executed in a organized and efficient manner
- A degree in business, marketing, English or related fields and experiences preferred.
