Portugal.The Man exclusive music video!

In anticipation to our upcoming event with Portugal. The Man on May 1st at Space15Twenty, we have an exclusive video with two of the band members John Gourley and Ryan Neighbors playing an acoustic version of “Let You Down” off The Satanic Satanist album. You saw it here first!

The special performance on May 1st will be part of Poketo and Kitsune Noir’s “Los Angeles, I’m Yours” show at Space15Twenty. Over 30 LA artists have reinterpreted found and vintage objects in this very unique art market. The art show will be up so you can check it out if you missed last weeks opening.

On this special May 1st event, Portugal will play an acoustic set, we will launch a special collaboration of Poketo wallets with the band, and there will be original artwork by John Gourley and Austin Sellers. If you are not familiar with the art of Portugal. The Man, it comes from these two guys and it is insane. There will be additional original works that John and Austin will be making for the event. All that and you’ll be able to pick up other limited edition prints, merch, and their music! Have them sign everything, they’ll be stoked!

If all this weren’t enough, hop on over to Kitsune Noir and download the Portugal. The Man desktop wallpaper now for your laptop, Iphone, Ipad, PSP, computer, etc. Go!!

See you all on Saturday, May 1st!

Branding Los Angeles

One of the many things I’m loving about “Los Angeles, I’m Yours” art show is the branding. Bobby of Kitsune Noir and Joshua Porter were the two behind this logo/identity. For me, the old school script is reminiscent of an old Los Angeles. You still see remnants of this hand painted style in signage in Echo Park and East Los Angeles. These signs show the labor, the beauty, the timelessness, and the artistry of LA. The “Los Angeles, I’m Yours” show that opens up tomorrow night, April 24th, is a celebration of this diverse city, the myridad of artists that live and work in LA, and the incredible energy this city offers us.

By the way, do you love the shirt or what??

“Los Angeles I’m Yours”–designing and installing

Some quick picks before heading to Space15Twenty to meet my peeps from Coconut Records. We are going to install some deconstructed television sets… that’s the idea at least. Lets hope I survive! Here are some pics of some installation work from the last couple of nights. As you can see, thanks to space designer Eric Trine, Poketo and Kitsune Noir are gonna make it crazy with vintage crates, tents, and tons of oddities and art. More soon!
