The ‘Type or Treat’ Halloween event at the Poketo store is just around the corner on October 29th, and we couldn’t wait till Monday to share the goodies we have in store for you. There will be three artist prints from Kate Bingaman Burt, Michael C Hsiung, and Kim West that will only be printed on the night of the event.

Over the next few days, I’ll post a sneak peek of each of the prints. First up, LA artist Michael C. Hsiung whose signature artwork revolves around mythical and fantastical creatures… with mustaches.

Pop by ‘Type or Treat’ on Monday, October 29th from 5-8 pm to get your hands on them. Kyle Durrie of the Moveable Type will be making exclusive letterpress prints out of these artwork from her mobile print shop onto paper, masks and Trick or Treat bags!

You can also have the rare opportunity to apply ink to a letterpress printer and see how this historic craft works.

It’s just days away till our ‘Type or Treat’ Halloween letterpress event on Monday, October 29th! We cannot wait until Kyle Durrie of the Moveable Type pulls up outside the Poketo store in her mobile letterpress truck and gives us a rare glimpse into the art of letterpress printing.

Some exciting things you can look forward to on Monday: free limited-edition prints and Halloween masks drawn from artwork specially designed for the event from artists Kate Bingaman Burt, Michael C. Hsiung and Kim West. We will of course have delicious treats… donut holes from our neighbors, Café Dulce and a selection of wines from our good friend, Melissa Acedera. Our friends at AIGA Los Angeles, will also be here!

Halloween is almost upon us. If you’re hosting a party, you may have laid out all the spooky decorations, sinful candy and scary music, but you may not have had time to get into the spirit of things with a proper costume.

That’s where we come in to the rescue! Well, kind of… not that these are totally proper, but, they are lot of fun! Inspired by all the ghoulish Halloween preparations popping around us, we asked our uber-talented fall intern, Emi Tamaru, to help us out by brandishing her playful drawing skills for these fun-filled Halloween masks.

This Halloween be a mysterious bat, sly cat, jolly pumpkin, sweet witch, zombie mummy, or blood-thirsty vampire. It’s up to you!

1. Simply download the images below by saving them on your desk top
2. Print the image on 8.5 x 11 paper on heavier stock preferably.
3. Pierce holes for the eyes, attach a string or stick, and you’re all set!
4. If you want, color them in for a more personal look.
5. Don’t forget to take a pic and post it on Facebook, we’d be stoked to see it! Most of all, have (ghoulish) fun!!
