Not a fan of Target (since they support Conservatives who are opposed to equal rights) – may return as a fan of you guys if you show my how you reconcile their icky politics with your beautiful creations.
it’s a conundrum – i’d like to know what you say/think about it.
We don’t agree with Target’s donation to MN Forward and it is disappointing. I do commend Target for other charitable contributions in arts, culture, education, and social services. Target generates over $3 million every week for things we can all stand behind. We don’t believe Target donated with malicious intent. Target’s CEO publicly apologized for the donation and we hope that stricter reviews and standards are in place for future donations. Target does support the arts, they support artists, and their platform for an independent brand like Poketo is a huge step for artists, our culture, and community. We hope you can stand behind the positives that the Poketo collection at Target stands for.
Thanks for responding.
I can appreciate the apology from Target’s CEO and their contribution to arts, culture, education and social services – it’s commendable and good business.
You wouldn’t happen to have some specifics on that “over $3 million every week for things we can all stand behind”? Frankly, it sounds like a line from their press release.
You can learn more about their charitable contributions here on their corporate site. No doubt there is opportunity to dig deep.
