Ethnographic Collection of SONS

SONS – Shoes or no shoes is a museum in Kruishoutem, Belgium that specializes solely in shoes. SONS houses three collections: ethnographic, modern, and designer. The ethnographic collection has 2,700 pairs from 155 countries and is the biggest collection of its kind in the world. The modern collection includes about “1,200 pairs acquired from artists, many of whom customized the shoes, evoking the question: Are they art or shoes? Shoes or no shoes?” And the designer collection
 displays shoes from contemporary designers like Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik. Since going all the way to Belgium to visit might not be the easiest thing to do for most, check out their site to view their entire collection.
