I love Top Chef and am super excited that The Gorbals, the long awaited restaurant from Season 2 winner, Ilan Hall, is set to open later this week in Downtown LA! Ilan was my favorite from Season 2 and can’t wait to finally try his food!!

Named after the town in Glasgow where Ilan’s father was raised, the restaurant will feature an eclectic menu of non-regional small plates boasting the freshest ingredients from Santa Monica farmers market. So fresh and delicious.

Aside from being the work of a Top Chef, The Gorbals offers a more adventurous menu than most restaurants Downtown. There are rumors of bacon-wrapped matzoh balls…I wonder what other culinary contradictions Ilan has in store for us.
